Ex- Physician Accused of Assault Allegations Against 38 Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities report that a ex- doctor stands accused of performing assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.

The Grave Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

A deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

The charges come after what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

Breakdown of Charges

Prosecutors outline the forty-five charges include:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • 17 counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
