Devoted supporters of Ariana Grande are demanding that a individual who leaped a fence and touched the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good premiere be arrested or expelled from Singapore.

A circulating clip reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the cast walked down a event pathway accompanied by onlookers.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo immediately pulled the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the event by event staff.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being arrested", though court documents indicated that he was due to appear on the following morning. It is not clear if he was charged.

Pattern of Incidents

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has disrupted a performance. His Instagram profile contains videos of him interrupting other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last winter.

"Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is evidently a punishable act," stated an Instagram follower, in a response to a video Mr Wen posted of his act.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user remarked.

Fans Voice Worry Over Ariana's Well-being

Several fans criticized Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had discussed suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her May 2017 show in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and harming numerous individuals.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented one more response on Instagram.

Several supporters also criticised event staff at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while others demanded online networks to ban Mr Wen's uploads.

Response and Event Details

In videos shared widely, Grande appeared startled when she was approached by the intruder. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed reassuring her while Mr Wen was led out by staff.

Grande has remained silent on the event, and the rest of the event proceeded as normal.

Many of fans had gathered in a sea of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore mall, including some who had queued for as long as many hours before it started.

The motion picture, to be launched on 21 November, is the sequel of a dual interpretation of the popular theatrical musical Wicked, which focuses on the unexpected friendship between two distinct witches.

The production itself is a adaptation of the 1900 book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was dressed in a rosé sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who portrays the wicked witch, wore a black tube gown embroidered with roses.

They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the most successful motion picture of last year in the UK, and earned ten Academy Award nods, winning a pair for excellent wardrobe and set decoration.
