In a commanding performance, England secured one more win versus Albania, featuring a number of squad members turning in standout displays on the pitch.

Starting XI

Dean Henderson Had little to do required before the break before forced to intervene from an opponent's curled attempt. His sliding challenge on an Albanian attacker demonstrated sharp anticipation. Six out of ten

The debutant Challenged by Albania’s main danger through their forward. Started in a central role initially but moved wider after a teammate was introduced. Seven

The defender Advanced into midfield on the ball, as he has done before. At times lacked urgency in possession and the approach abandoned by the interval. 6

Dan Burn A nuisance at set pieces, per usual, perhaps is a replacement for Stones in defense instead of alongside him. A loose ball after the break nearly resulted in an opener for the visitors. 6/10

The young full-back Another assured showing by the youngster following his initial appearance versus Serbia. A teammate failed to make the opportunity from an exquisite touch behind their defense. The role is firmly his at this stage. 7

The newcomer A debut start in an England shirt. A bit sloppy on the ball however his dangerous set-pieces caused problems. A useful pace-controller for the boss to have against defensive opponents. Shown a yellow for a rash tackle. 6

Declan Rice Crosses from corners and free kicks caused problems. Enjoyed room to move in left midfield but was in an offside position as the pass came in front of goal. Given a well-earned substitution on the hour mark. 6

The star midfielder Operated in an advanced spot out wide and also put in dirty work. Showed glimpses of brilliance and mishit a shot high. Substituted towards the end by Rogers, his competition, following a yellow card. 7/10

Jarrod Bowen Had England’s clearest opportunity in the opening period, his shot well saved from Thomas Strakosha. As Quansah holding position, he was forced to stretch the play on the right yet his deliveries into the box were hit and miss. Replaced with 15 to go. 6

Harry Kane The decisive figure scoring 77th and 78th strikes for his country. His first a typical poacher’s finish while the second a classy header following a clever run from his marker. Aged 32, he’s only getting better and England stand a real opportunity in the upcoming tournament with him up top. 8

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to make an impact on the left flank. Was presented with a presentable chance following a pass from a teammate yet Strakosha denied him. His replacement produced a bigger effect after coming on. 5/10
