The English squad will embark on their UEFA Euro 2028 adventure at the the home of Manchester City, assuming they achieve the expected qualification for a tournament taking place in the majority of the UK and the Ireland.

Manchester City’s home ground has not welcomed an Three Lions match since eight years ago, when the visitors were overcome 2-1 in a exhibition match, but is expected to stage the national team for their inaugural game on Saturday 10 June 2028.

England are planned to play their concluding group fixtures at Wembley Stadium, but, in the event of winning their group, their round of 16 match would occur at the Newcastle stadium. Placing second would mean beginning the playoffs at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Tournament Kickoff and Rally

All four host countries’ teams will participate in the qualifying tournament; two reserved places will be set aside for any that do not reach the tournament through that route.

Venues and Playoffs

Villa Park and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium complete the event’s nine venues. Every stadium will hold at least one knockout match, with the quarter-finals staged at every host’s main arena.

The qualifying draw will be held in Belfast, which was removed as a host city last year when it emerged the proposed venue could not be redeveloped in time, on a date in late 2026.
