The Renowned Musician Encourages Support to Propel Together for Palestine Track to UK Festive Top Spot.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The effort aims to send support to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian cultural expression.

A Possibility for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”

Defiant Message of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's powerful central theme.

“The song holds a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “It’s basically saying that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The track was produced following a major charity concert held in late summer. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the performance was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The notable list of performers featured on Lullaby features a selection of well-known figures from the scene. All were part of the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a significant sum for relief efforts.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of producers and composers. The track features a fusion of the traditional Arabic lyrics with freshly written English words.

The organizers behind the project have clarified that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a specific fund. These donations will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a representative said. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was characterized as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of infrastructure reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions won't make an enormous impact. But I think what does make a difference is primarily making this cause better known and demonstrating that another narrative exists.”

The song is scheduled for release this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made accessible to view on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
