Baroque Works is poised to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the real showdown isn’t set to occur until season 3, and a beloved, popular member has now been chosen.

Netflix announced recently that the talented performer has joined the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Bon Clay. The role can use their power to change into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. The actor, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will play a rendition of that character re-envisioned as gender non-binary, as opposed to as a drag queen, in the real-life adaptation, as in the source material and anime.

The new cast member joins a number of new cast members who will portray the group to reality, such as head Mr. 0, portrayed by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as another operative, and a familiar face, who will appear as the lineup as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.

Although Bon Clay is a major member of the organization, the persona will be introduced in One Piece the third season. Considering season 2 set to cover the Little Garden segment, this signals a significant shift in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate additional alterations to the story’s structure.

The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the role. Along with their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and multiple awards for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, emphasizing the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece program is scheduled to come back for its next installment on March 10, 2026.
